This mother was wanting the best place for her sons, and we know there were other disciples who had been with Jesus, and they heard about James and John wanting more than their share, and of course they did not like it. James and John wanted first place, but they did not ask Jesus how they might win it, but wanted to be given the first place. Jesus had just been telling them how He was to suffer, and He told James and John and their mother that they must be willing to do even as He (Jesus) had done, and th a t the best way to be great is to be helpful in every (1) And when they drew nigh unto Jeru salem, and were come to Bethphage, un to the Mount of Olives, then sent Jesus two disciples, (2) Saying unto them, Go intd' the village over against ycm, and straightw ay ye shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her : loose them, and bring them unto me. way we can. Jesus even though He was God’s Son, left His beautiful home in heaven, and came down to earth and helped people all the time, and then gave His life to save us from our sins, and is now in heaven getting a place ready for all who love Him. Jesus says whatsoever is right will be given us. Let us say our memory verse together. “Whatsoever is right I will give you.” If we do all our work gladly and just the best we know how each day, we will be given first place in the hearts of father and mother, in the school, and wherever we may be. Closing Prayer: Our dear heavenly Father help us each day to please thee in all we do.
