King's Business - 1921-01

70 and placed them in the road th a t He might ride over them. The people did this to show Him honor, which was the way people did when a king rode through their streets. The great crowds of people th a t went before Jesus and followed after Him, called out with a loud voice, praising Him, and saying, ‘‘Blessed is He that cometh in the name of the Lord.” When Jesus entered in through the gates into the city, He went lip to the temple. We see Jesus set us a good example, to always know where the church and Sunday School is, and to go to it. But when Jesus got to the temple He found people were using it as a store and selling things there. Of course this made Jesus sad to see the temple or church used in such a way. He made all the people who were selling things get out, and He told them how they should have known better, because it was written in God’s word, that His house was a place of prayer. While Jesus was in the temple, blind and lame people came and were /brought to Jesus, and He healed them. When the chief priests saw the won derful things which Jesus _did, and heard the little children in the temple praising Jesus, they were very angry, and they asked Jesus if He had heard what even the little children were say ing. Of course Jesus heard the praises of the little .children, and He asked them if they had never read in His (God’s) word, th a t the little children were the ones who knew how to praise Him best. In the evening Jesus left the city and went back to Bethany and stayed there all night. Where is Jesus today? Can we praise Him too? Yes, indeed we can, and th a t is just what He wants us to do. Let us say our mem ory verse. Sing praises to God, sing praises. There are those who love Jesus today all over the world, who gather together in churches and-Sunday School and sing praises to Him and worship Him. Jesus is our true King.
