Today is all about scenery, as we take a scenic drive around the Inishowen Peninsula. Dubbed ‘Inishowen 100’ it marks the start of the mighty Wild Atlantic Way and is Ireland’s largest peninsula, flanked by Lough Foyle on the east and Lough Swilly on the west. We take in the spectacular views as we pass magnificent beaches, charming Irish villages and enjoy a stop at the most northernly point, Malin Head. In the afternoon we visit the Doagh Famine Village for a guided tour during which we hear the story of Irish life from the Great Famine of the 1840’s through until the present day.

Day 2 A ‘Beautiful Train Journey’, Derry & ‘Meet the Mayor’ Guildhall Tour We begin our day with a train journey described by Michael Palin as being ‘one of the most beautiful train journeys in the world’ (currently, tickets for this train must be purchased at the station on the day). En route from Coleraine to Derry, the track runs alongside the unspoilt sands of Downhill Beach, whilst on the opposite side we pass the impressive Binevenagh Mountain. Upon arrival in Derry, we enjoy free time for lunch before embarking on a 2 hour part step-on guide and walking tour “unlocking the Walled City” . We finish our day with a special visit to Derry’s fabulous Guildhall . Here we enjoy an exclusive Civic Tour including ‘Meet the Mayor’ and a sparkling prosecco drinks reception (bottled beer and orange juice also available). Day 3 Giant’s Causeway, Portrush & Old Bushmills Distillery (optional) This morning, an early start to beat the crowds as we visit the Giant’s Causeway and its award-winning Visitor Centre. We then enjoy a scenic drive along the Causeway Coastal Route. We make a pitstop in the beautiful seaside resort town of Portrush. Why not include a visit to the Old Bushmills Distillery, the world’s oldest licenced working distillery in County Antrim and where Bushmills Irish Whiskey is made. A guided tour is available. (Please note, there are numerous steps and stairs). Day 4 Ballycastle Cruise & Chocolate Manor OR Dunfin Farm Sheep Experience This morning, we head to Ballycastle Harbour from where we embark on a 2 hour cruise going in search of puffins, seals and lighthouses! We hear stories from our guides as we sail, taking in the beautiful scenery around Rathlin Island which boasts Northern Ireland’s largest seabird colony. This afternoon, we have a delicious option in store – a 90-minute chocolate making demonstration at the Chocolate Manor. Then savour these mouth-watering freshly made delights – delicious! Or alternatively, why not enjoy an authentic Northern Irish experience at Dunfin Farm, a traditional working farm, where we’re treated to a sheep experience or guided walk. During the visit you can enjoy both a sheep dog demonstration and a sheep shearing demonstration. Day 5 Departure After breakfast, we make our way home.

Looking to enhance your tour with something a bit different? Consider adding a roarsome visit to Wild Ireland. It’s safe to say this is no ordinary visit! We enjoy a self-guided tour of the fascinating and newly opened Peacemakers Museum , dedicated to how the North of Ireland moved from decades of violent conflict to the peace, residents enjoy today.
