Shanklin Old Village – An historic gem, Shanklin Old Village is a small part of Shanklin Town and contains some of the oldest dwellings on the Island, of which the majority are thatched. The picture-postcard village is situated on a lower level than the Town of Shanklin, famed for its small gift shops, pretty tea rooms, pubs and restaurants. Isle of Wight Pearl – Situated in a spectacular cliff-top setting with views over the English Channel, family- owned Isle of Wight Pearl offers beautifully designed pearl jewellery with the best pearls sourced straight from pearl farmers worldwide. After having a browse, sit and relax in the much-loved Pearl Café and you can hear more about the wonderful world of pearls. Quarr Abbey – A beautiful monastery dedicated to Our Lady of Quarr, Quarr Abbey is a monastery, home to a group of Benedictine monks who dedicate their lives to the glory of God. The monks welcome visitors to discover the peace, beauty and tranquillity of Quarr. Learn more about the abbey in the visitor-centre and enjoy visual arts in the gallery. Relax and take time in the Tea Shop or take a wander into the Farm Shop which sells a delicious range of homemade products. Monkey Haven – Monkey Haven is the Isle of Wight’s award-winning primate rescue centre. The sanctuary is for animals in need of care and attention, often rescued from being badly neglected by their previous owners. Learn all about these fascinating creatures, their personalities, and how they came to be at the Haven. Rescued and rehabilitated animals include monkeys, owls, meerkats, reptiles and creepy crawlies. Dinosaur Isle Museum – The Isle of Wight is the most important site in Europe for dinosaur fossils and the Dinosaur Isle Museum offers the perfect opportunity to learn more about these amazing creatures. In summer, enjoy a drink in the Tearooms’ pretty gardens. Ventnor Botanic Garden – Located in the unique microclimate of the Ventnor Undercliff, Ventnor Botanic Garden boasts an impressive collection of over 30,000 rare and sub-tropical plants and trees. Spread across 22 acres of gardens, the plantings are based on geographical regions from around the Globe. With an average temperature of 5 degrees warmer than mainland UK, Ventnor Botanic Garden is a great place to visit. Hovertravel Behind the Scenes Tour – Discover a unique opportunity to explore one of the iconic hovercrafts! This 60-minute Behind-the-Scenes Tour will be led by an experienced team member.
