Summer 2026 sees Kew Gardens present the largest ever outdoor exhibition of works by Henry Moore. This landmark event includes 30 sculptures around the Gardens as well as a collection of significant artworks, showcased in the Shirley Sherwood Gallery, encompassing Moore’s entire career. The exhibition weaves together key themes of Moore’s work, offering visitors a unique opportunity to experience the beauty and richness of Moore’s art and its connection to nature. JUNE Royal Ascot & Ladies’ Day Excitement, glamour and style! Royal Ascot is, without a doubt, Britain’s best-loved horseracing meeting and the highlight of the summer racing season. Trooping of the Colour This impressive display of pageantry marks the sovereign’s official birthday and is performed by His Majesty’s Household Division on the magnificent setting of the Horse Guards Parade. The King’s Parade or Trooping of the Colour is an incredible spectacle of colour and sound involving 1,400 officers and soldiers, 200 horses and over 400 musicians from military bands playing in unison. The parade route extends from Buckingham Palace along the Mall to Horse Guards Parade. JULY-SEPTEMBER BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall Presented by the BBC, the Royal Albert Hall plays host to the BBC Proms, a full season of exceptional classical concerts from world-renowned artists. Buckingham Palace Buckingham Palace is a London royal residence and the administrative headquarters of the monarch. It is one of the few working royal palaces remaining in the world today. During summer, the palace opens its doors to visitors where they can see the 19 State Rooms which are used by the Royal Family to entertain their guests on State, ceremonial and official occasions. All rooms are furnished with many of the greatest treasures from the Royal Collection, including paintings by Van Dyck and Canaletto, sculpture by Canova, Sèvres porcelain and magnificent pieces of English and French furniture. Buckingham Palace is open mid-July -end of September. AUGUST BANK HOLIDAY Hampton Court Food Festival What better combination than food and Hampton Court! A day out for all ages, the palace gardens play host to a wealth of stalls and activities. Wander amidst the tempting ‘street food’ stalls, pop-up bars and artisan bakers and creators. There are also drinks masterclasses and circus skill demonstrations as well as games, shopping and music – truly something for all the family.
