Deborah Assaly called on a familiar celebrity, her son, Warren, when she sought

someone to stage a demonstration for her cooking class at the Eastern Ontario Training

Centre in Hawkesbury. A regular on CITY-TV’s “What’s Cooking?” program, the 28-

year-old Hawkesbury native is already a veteran chef, having worked in the kitchens

of many local restaurants before following a Cordon Bleu program in Ottawa. “I love

Un gros merci!

it,” he says of the TV work. “It gives me great exposure and eventually it may help me

get my own restaurant. The sky’s the limit,” says Warren, who is executive chef at the

Marabou in Saint-Sauveur, where the menu is “French with an Asian twist.”
