COVER STORY
“
All I wanted was to get an education so I could go out and get a good job so I could set the tone for my younger brothers. When I graduated college, I adopted my brother Willie who was 17, and I got him in college...Because I was the very first person to go to college in my entire family, I was driven by the fact that I had three brothers and a sister in my immediate family. I knew that I had to set an example for them...That's why I've been so big on education. I knew it was a way out of the poverty situation and would open the door for opportunities that were closed to those without a college education.” —J. Leonard Hamilton
