in June 1995 from the administrative position of Coordinator of Computer Training and User Support. Cooper was a member of the Richmond (VA) Alumni Chapter and was honored as “Kappa Brother of the Year" in 1999. He was also a member of Providence Park Baptist Church and served as comptroller and one of the musicians for the past ten years and a member of the Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA). In 1990, the Richmond School Board honored Cooper with the "Good Apple" award for his contributions to Rich- mond Public Schools. He also received an award from the Richmond Associa- tion of Educational Office Professionals in 1990, which recognized his contribu- tion to the computer training of clerical personnel. Cooper was a graduate of the first Henrico County Senior Citizens Police Academy and a past member of the United Way Evaluation Agency, past member of Club 533, Inc., past member of Henrico County Lay Advisory Council, and a life member of the Virginia PTAs. Brother James Cooper, Jr. was prede- ceased by his wife of two years, Janet (née Allen) Cooper. Surviving are his former wife of 41 years, Deloris (née Betts) Cooper; and their two sons, Eric (Valerie) and James III (Darlene); four grandchildren, Kianan and Alexis; and Jordan and Joi; godson, and a host of devoted friends, relatives, colleagues, and former students.

He earned a B.A. degree in history from the University of Akron in 1973 and later earned a J.D. degree from the Uni- versity of Akron School of Law in 1976. He held licensure through The Supreme Court of Ohio, United States Supreme Court, United States Court of Appeals, 6th Circuit, and the United States Dis- trict Court, Northern District of Ohio. He served from 1982 to 1996 as Associ- ate General Counsel for the University of Akron ); Adjunct Professor, University of Akron School of Law (1984 to 2005); Assistant Attorney General, Office of the Ohio Attorney General (1977-82); Assistant Prosecuting Attorney, Stark County Ohio (1976-77). From 1996 to 2005, Daniels served as the University of Akron Compliance Officer. A Life Member of Kappa Alpha Psi, Daniels was also a member of the National Association of College and University Attorneys, Ohio State Bar As- sociation, Akron Barristers. He served on the Board of Trustees for the Portage Path Behavioral Health Center, North- east Ohio Psychiatric Institute, Akron Community Foundation, and United Way of Summit County, and the Summit County Court of Common Pleas Me- diation Advisory Council. Mr. Daniels enjoyed history, photography, popular music, and was an avid reader. He loved attending Broadway shows, visiting local wineries and farm markets, and playing card games. His children were his joy and his crown. Brother Isiah Daniels, III was preceded in death by his father and brother, O'Dell Daniels Sr. He is survived by his son, Bearden; daughter, Aminah; mother, Clara; brothers, Embree and Rafael (Lisa); sister, Jacqueline Daniels- Sharkey; sister-in-law, Rita Daniels, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins and other relatives.
Brother James Coo- per (Alpha Lambda 1954) entered the Chapter Invisible on September 16, 2020, at 85. Cooper was born in King- stree, SC on July 2, 1935 to the late
Queen E. and James G. Cooper. He graduated high school from Williams- burg County’s Tomlinson High School. He earned a B.S. in mathematics from South Carolina State College (now University). He subsequently earned an M.S. degree in applied mathematics from Atlanta University (now Clark- Atlanta University). He pursued post- graduate studies at Hampton University, Virginia Commonwealth University, the University of Virginia, and Michigan State University. Cooper began his career as a high school mathematics teacher in North Charleston, SC spending two years before entering graduate school. After completing graduate school, he was employed as a high school mathematics teacher/department head in Staunton, VA. While teaching high school math- ematics, he also worked simultaneously as an adjunct teacher in the Field Ser- vices Division at Virginia State Universi- ty. He served in this dual role for several years before moving to Richmond. In 1963, he began his teaching career in the Richmond City Public Schools at Maggie L. Walker High School. Dur- ing his career, he also worked at John Marshall High School, George Wythe High School, and in Central Adminis- tration. He held various positions within the school system, Teacher, Department Head, Supervisor, Curriculum Spe- cialist, Acting Director of the Depart- ment of Planning and Development, Educational and Fiscal Planner, and Coordinator of Computer Training and User Support. He was also employed part-time with H&R Block and People's Income Tax for 20 years. He retired

on September 20, 2020. He was born August 12, 1951, to Isiah Daniels-Saafir and Clara (née Woodard) Daniels-Saafir. He graduated from Akron, OH’s John R. Buchtel High School in 1969. Before attending college, Daniels worked at Firestone Tire and Rubber Company.
