Leading has taught me that the decisions that you make as a leader should be in the best interest of the people you serve. One of the things I always say when I’m creating policies is that policies shouldn’t be personal. This means that as a leader, you want to make sure that regardless of what it is you’re deciding upon as a leader, make sure that it is going to benefit the people you serve.” —Traelon T. Rodgers “
his growth and development. He will achieve national prominence.”
“What is remarkable about Traelon is that he was able to maintain a perfect GPA while also being heavily involved as a campus leader and as a community activist. I think a lot of people recognize him as Dillard's Student Government President and know about his position with the NAACP, but he really doesn't brag enough about all of the activities he leads as a change agent.” Dr. Casey Schreiber, Associate Professor of Urban Studies and Public Policy. “Like when he organized a group of young protesters to take to the streets in summer 2020 at the height of national attention in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement. He has been able to achieve so many things as an advocate for oth- ers. So, I am happy that he is receiving this recognition as Valedictorian so we can shine the spotlight on his personal accomplishments.” Rodgers is a proud initiate of the Beta Gamma Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi. The Southwestern Province of Kappa Alpha Psi recently awarded Rodg- ers as the Undergraduate Brother with the highest grade point average. “Get used to the name Traelon Rodg- ers. He will be a force in this world. Traelon represents the best of Dillard University,” Dr. Marc Barnes, Vice President of the Division of Institutional Advancement said. “It has been a pleasure watching him grow over the past three years.”
