scene. During 40 years of winning hydroplane racing competitions, Little’s responsible team designed an enclosed driver’s seat to boost driver safety. FSHOF is forever changing with new exhibits added every year following ceremonial enshrinements of new Hall of Fame class members. Twenty-twenty newbies include basketball legend Pat Riley, golfer Tiger Woods, and home run hitter Alex Rodriguez. Representatives from six different sports—golf, football, baseball, basketball, swimming and hockey—form the elite 2020 class of 10 inductees. But there's even more to FSHOF than showcasing prestigious athletes. The Hall's Fame for Fitness mission focuses on charitable endeavors. Since 2016, the philanthropic branch of FSHOF has raised and contributed nearly $1 million to organizations like Shriners Hospitals for Children, Boys and Girls Clubs, and Florida Sherriff's Youth Ranches. The annual Hewell Family Fame for Fitness Award is presented to an individual or organization that encourages physical fitness, sports participation, health, and general well- being for Florida's children. Likewise, the Hall of Fame encourages inducted sports figures to support and educate Sunshine State youth

and adults in their quests for active athletic lifestyles. Positive qualities like self-discipline and honorable behavior are emphasized. FSHOF members share inspiring stories of personal growth, career achievement, and community outreach as related to their experiences in the wide world of sports. A summer highlight at FSHOF is the Celebrity Golf Classic. The 4th annual event (June 18-19, 2021) took place on the famed Ryder Course at Port St. Lucie's PGA Golf Club. Tournament proceeds benefit FSHOF's favorite children's charities. Chi Chi Rodriguez is the honorary 2021 chairperson, with guest appearances by Bonnie Blades, Lou Piniella, Gary Sheffield, and other sports notables. Best of all, golfing participants mix it up with FSHOF celebrities at a Friday evening VIP party and play a day of golf in their company on Saturday. Florida Sports Hall of Fame is located in the MidFlorida Event Center, 9221 SE Event Center Place, Port St. Lucie, FL 34952, FSHOF is open to the public Wednesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free for everyone.
