As well as supplying a comprehensive range of heating, plumbing and renewable energy solutions for domestic and commercial projects, Heat Merchants goes the extra mile. It provides technical support services, heating and plumbing system design, commissioning, ancillary certification, aftersales service and installer training. These services and specialist support were put in place to offer expertise which will save customers time and money while also delivering quality solutions. TECHNICAL DESIGN The technical services team has full professional indemnity insurance and can provide installers with a complete design for heating, plumbing and mechanical ventilation in any single, multi-residential or retrofit project. Systems are designed to ensure a high level of comfort and energy efficiency for homeowners. The team will assess the property’s requirements, suggest solutions and deliver a comprehensive, bespoke technical design to include product specifications, full schematics and drawings compliant with current building regulations and best practice. Heat Merchants also offers ancillary certification and technical support to its customers. When it comes to retrofit projects, the Heat Merchants technical services team will also provide installers with the required technical information and guidance on the application process for SEAI grant funding. The technical design team is overseen by Mechanical Engineer Enda McGowan, who has over 23 years’ service with Heat Merchants. ESTIMATION Paul Merrigan heads up the estimation team, which provides product specification and price estimates for a variety of multi-residential and commercial projects. The estimation team manages requests for tenders and provides ongoing technical support and guidance for customers. COMMISSIONING & AFTER- SALES SERVICE The Heat Merchants Service and Warranty division manages a team of service engineers around the country and schedules commissioning and service calls. It also looks after manufacturer warranty requirements for key product lines including Panasonic air-to-water heat pumps. INSTALLER TRAINING Heat Merchants has new training centres in Naas and Cork, with a third scheduled to open in Athlone in the coming months. The team offers introductory and advanced air-to-water heat pump training on the Panasonic range of heat pumps, including the new Aquarea K & L series.
