Autism New Jersey 2026 Impact Report

INDIVIDUALS & FAMILIES Educate | Support | Protect | Prevent Harm Helpline

Autism New Jersey’s flagship 800.4.AUTISM Helpline provides personalized guidance to individuals with autism and their families on everything from diagnosis, treatment, and special education to adult services, benefits, housing, and end-of-life planning. Families often first call after a diagnosis, then return over the years as new questions and challenges arise. This year, we expanded our support by launching a real-time interpreter service, making the helpline more accessible to New Jersey’s non-English-speaking families and enabling more culturally responsive, individualized guidance. We also broadened our expertise to include housing and Early Intensive Behavior Intervention (EIBI) and collaborated with an immigration attorney to ensure families received informed guidance as federal immigration policies evolved.

No matter where someone is in their journey, our helpline staff take the time to listen, understand each family’s unique circumstances, and connect them with practical, evidence- informed resources.
