YU Innovation Lab and Shevet Glaubach Center Announce Winner of Annual Innovation Challenge Yeshiva University’s Innovation Lab and Shevet Glaubach Center for Career Strategy and Professional Development recently hosted the final round of their annual Innovation Challenge, in which YU students showcased a diverse array of entrepreneurial business concepts. The winning team, AI-ccuracy, received a grand prize of $1,000 to fund their company proposal aimed at improving medication management for mental health patients through AI profiling. READ MORE

YUnite Shabbaton Comes to Teaneck/ Bergenfield On the Shabbat of March 24-25, YU held its YUnite Shabbaton in the Teaneck/ Bergenfield area, uniting students, alumni, members of the community and prospective students in Torah and chizuk (strength). During the Shabbat, YU rabbis and roshei Yeshiva spoke at various shuls in the area, sharing YU’s values and building a stronger connection between the community and the University.

YUPAC Delegation Heads to Washington D.C. Over 150 students, organized by the YU Political Action Club (YUPAC) in collaboration with Jon Greenfield, YU’s Director of Government Relations, and Yeshiva University High School for Girls (Central), visited Congress to rally support for the State of Israel. The visit included meetings at 45 congressional offices and talks with Senator Ben Cardin of Maryland and Senator Ted Cruz of Texas on the steps of the U.S. Capitol.

Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary Hosts Second Annual Yom Hakahal Day of Learning On Sunday, March 12, the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary (RIETS) brought together its leading Torah scholars and Roshei Yeshiva (heads of Yeshiva) for the second annual Yom HaKahal/Day of Learning, spreading wisdom and insight to an audience of 750 students, alumni and community members. The event covered a variety of topics, including a Shiur Kelali with Rabbi Hershel Schachter (pictured at left); a community address from President Rabbi Dr. Ari Berman, a riveting, never-before-seen 35-minute shiur from Rabbi Joseph Soloveitchik, zt”l, and dozens of unique presentations from the Yeshiva’s rabbis and faculty. Scholarships Create Diversity Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) are among the most impacted by student debt. In response, Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology established its Diversity Scholarship Fund, which Bassit Mulam, a Muslim graduate student from Ghana, is benefitting from as he investigates the impact of asthma on depression and cognition in older persons. The aid Bassit received allows him to pursue his career with greater freedom. “I don’t have to take out more loans. It makes a real difference.” READ MORE
