Allen Kao, PT, DPT
Allen is a licensed physical therapist with a doctorate of physical therapy from the University of St. Augustine, San Marcos and a bachelor’s of science in exercise science from University of California, Davis. Allen grew up in Cupertino, California, where he found a passion for both outdoor and indoor
hobbies, including hiking, reading, working out, snowboarding, and video games. He developed his interest in physical therapy and orthopedic rehabilitation after working as an aide in the Bay Area servicing a population of highly motivated weekend warriors.
Allen is excited to join the North County Water & Sports Therapy team to continue to advance his clinical knowledge and manual therapy skills while helping
patients get back to doing the things they love with increased confidence and decreased risk of injury. Outside of the clinic, you will find Allen on a local trail or sampling the numerous coffee shops San Diego has to offer.
John Bunnell, DPT
John Bunnell is a physical therapist who graduated from Midwestern University in Downers Grove, Illinoi. He was born and raised in San Diego and grew up mountain biking, body surfing at the beach, and playing all sorts of sports, like roller hockey and basketball, and even skateboarding. He then attended Point Loma Nazarene University until he moved to Chicago for graduate school. His current hobbies and
interests include running, pickleball, spending time with his dog, and international travel. He has a passion for serving the community he grew up in, which is why he loves working at North County Water & Sport Therapy Center. His clinical interests include sports rehabilitation for adolescents, specifically track and field athletes, and gait abnormalities due to neurological conditions.
