41st Annual Production Sale friday, April 10 , 2026 Sidney Livestock Market Center • Sidney, MT • 1 p.m. MDT
Cattle Producers and Friends, On behalf of the Thiessen family, we would like to welcome and invite you to our 41st annual bull sale. This year marks our 69th year of raising and offering high-quality, balanced-trait registered Angus bulls. Thank you for taking the time to review this catalog.
We would like to start off by congratulating each and every one of you. You finally got paid for your efforts! This past year we saw record highs again for calves, whether it was right off the cow or out of the feedlot. There is a lot of media talk about increasing the nation’s cow herd, how beef is too expensive, how the American ranchers are gouging the consumers. We say BS! When a pound of hamburger is still cheaper than a package of Oreos or a coffee at the corner wagon, then quit your complaining! And the ranchers’ cut of the retail price is still a small percentage. Labor costs throughout the whole process are still the major contributor to the final price tag. We get a lot of comments and questions about the current bull market and what bulls are going to cost this year. Last fall, the legendary Kurt Kangus gave a presentation at the Montana Angus Association’s annual meeting showing a comparison of the price points of calf sales and bull sales over the last couple of years. We wish we had time to get those slides from him but what was most interesting is that even at an increase of $2,500 over last year’s bull sales, these will be the cheapest bulls you will have bought in many years. When you figure the cost of bulls based on number of steer calves it takes to buy one, it will only be around 3.5 steers to buy a bull at $9,500 sale average. The last couple of years we’ve seen that number around 4 to 4.2 steers. That’s not even factoring in the $4,000 a mature, old bull is bringing as a canner. We are in unprecedented times in the cattle business. We believe it is not time to sit back and enjoy it, it is time to be aggressive and take the reins of this machine while we are in the driver’s seat so we don’t ever see 80/90 cent calves again! We have had increased interest over the last couple years in registered females, so we decided to offer a small group heifers this year. It has always been difficult to go through and decide which heifers to keep and which to sell as commercials but picking 10 elite females to sell turned out to be most challenging. We feel these heifers are as good as you can buy anywhere. At Regency Acres Angus, our mission is to raise as labor free and forage efficient of a cow as possible and for that cow to be a predictable breeder. We breed for smart, sound cattle that can travel; cattle with length, volume and that extra rib; cattle that are easy fleshing and cattle with longevity that are nice to be around. We want cows with good udders that take care of their calves, that have vigorous calves that get up quickly and get to suckling. We breed for cattle that are beefy, long, and deep that perform under a wide array of conditions. All of those are traits we select for and are traits that are passed on though genetics. The genetics that are introduced into our herd are done so with much research and contemplation. We score our cattle on many little things that can make a big difference. With that said, one can look through the cattle and appreciate the depth and uniformity of the cattle and the progress that has been made. You’re welcome to come view the bulls and heifers any time before the sale at the ranch. Videos of the cattle are posted on DVAuction.com. We look forward to seeing you on Friday, April 10th. The Thiessens Our Mission
To propagate genetics that will return the most dollars per acre for our customers.

Welcome to the Thiessen’s Regency Acres Annual Production Sale! It is my pleasure to invite you to the annual bull sale at Regency Acres Angus, hosted by the Thiessen family. Their long-standing commitment to raising high-quality Angus cattle is evident throughout the program, built on a foundation of integrity, hard work and a genuine passion for the beef industry. At Regency Acres, the cow herd remains the heart of the program. Russ and Tyler place great emphasis on their females, recognizing that the cows are the true factory behind the cattle they produce and provide to their customers. By focusing on a productive, dependable cow herd, they continue to build a program that delivers practical, reliable seedstock for commercial cattlemen. For 69 years, the Regency Acres program has been guided by the goal of producing cattle that work in real- world environments. Longevity, structural soundness and overall performance remain key priorities in their breeding decisions. This disciplined approach has helped establish a program that customers can depend on year after year. The bulls offered this year represent the consistency and reliability that have defined Regency Acres for generations. Backed by a program with 69 years of experience, these cattle are developed with the kind of practicality and purpose that commercial producers value. In addition to the bulls, this year’s sale will feature 10 elite registered heifer calves from the heart of the Regency replacement female program — a select opportunity to access the genetics behind the cow herd that drives the program. Russ and Tyler continue to stand behind their program and remain committed to helping customers find the right bulls to move their herds forward. If I can be of any assistance leading up to the Regency Acres sale, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Warm regards, Ron Frye
Helpful Hints for Care of Herd Bulls
adjust to a different diet. When a bull is turned out, he isn’t thinking much about eating, so any advantage that you can give him will be beneficial to younger bulls. Another trick for having a virgin bull ready is what we call “Jump-starting.” If you have a cow or a heifer around that is cycling, put the bull with her. If he seems disinterested, put another bull in with the cow for him to observe. This should trigger his brain. When the bull appears interested, let him in and remove the other bull. Make sure a bigger bull doesn’t start whipping on him, or that could defeat what you are trying to accomplish. It is rare that this procedure is necessary, but it is good insurance and, once the bull gets a taste of what his job is, he will be ready for those heifers. When breeding season is finished, a reconditioning program for yearling bulls is good as they change their teeth at 18 to 24 months of age.
Having herd bulls adapt to the environment they will be in is very important to the success of a breeding program. Whenever possible, the bulls should be fed the same type of forage they will eat in the breeding pasture for a minimum of two weeks before turn out. Their rumen operates with little bugs to break down the diet and different forages each have their own little bugs. About two weeks is the time required for the rumen to

Johne’s Disease or “That damn sh***ing disease!” Johne’s Disease, formerly considered a dairy disease, is be- coming very prominent across the beef herds. If you don’t know what it is, get your phone out and Google it. We started hearing about this in herds around here a few years ago. This prompted us to test our herd for this devastating disease. At that time the state veterinarian was implementing a program for Johne’s and we enrolled. Since then, we have tested all females 3 years old and older and all bulls 2 years and older with all tests being negative. We are now a certified Johne’s-Free herd. As your seedstock supplier, we felt it was necessary to do this to give you the peace of mind when buying from us. Sight-Unseen Purchase Guarantee Buyers unable to attend the sale may call or send their bids in to Russ, the auctioneer or any of the representatives listed. If the bull(s) purchased are not as presented, the purchased bull(s) can be returned to Regency Acres at no cost to the buyer. EPDs: The EPDs are current as of March 13, 2026. Current EPDs can be found at Angus.org. Calving Ease Scores: 1 Star – Use on mature cows 2 Star – Use on cows 3 years old and older 3 Star – Could be used on heifers but be ready to assist 4 Star – Very little, if any, assistance should be necessary 5 Star – Very easy calving; no assistance should be necessary Free Delivery Free delivery on bulls and registered heifers to CENTRAL POINTS (stockyards, etc.) within 1,000 miles, or the nearest Canadian port of entry, on all bulls selling for $4,000 or more. A $50 credit will be given if you pick your bulls up at the stock yards sale day or within a week of the sale at the ranch. If you can’t take delivery of your bull by May 1st , we will feed them until you can come pick him up for $2.50/head/day.
Commercial heifers are the responsibility of buyer as soon as sold. If you need help with trucking we can be of assistance.

Proud Participant in Maternal Plus While Regency Acres has been tracking maternal traits for decades, Maternal Plus takes it to a whole new level of economically important traits and allows us to make more informed decisions based on maternal genetics. We’ve always said it starts with the mama cow and Maternal Plus assists us in that decision making process.
Birthweights and Calving Ease
Angus bulls have long been known for their paramount calving ease. If you are breeding heifers, Angus is the go-to breed of choice. But what about the so-called “big” birth weight Angus bulls – where do they fit it? The vast majority of mature cows calve unassisted – it is rare for a mature cow to need assistance, except for abnormal deliveries (backwards, breech, twins, etc.). data reported to the AAA shows that over 99% of Angus cows, second calf or beyond, need assistance (abnormal deliveries excluded from this data). Back to the question at hand: where do the “big” birth weight Angus bulls fit in? Example: If you have a bull with a birth EPD of +5, he would be 3.2 pounds heavier than
the average (breed average BW EPD is 1.8) (5-1.3 = 3.2 pounds difference). However, his superior growth EPDs mean he will wean bigger calves and put way more money in your pocket than the average Angus bull! The moral of the story: if you are breeding mature cows to an Angus bull, do not make birth weight your focus.

Revolution was the high selling lot of the 2023 Spickler Ranch South sale. He is a very complete package bull, smooth made, deep bodied, with excellent leg and foot structure in a slightly moderate package. His progeny are ending up a little more moderate made than we anticipated but still in the right size catagory. He is proving himself to be a female maker as his daughters are some of the best young cows on the place. Semen available.

RA RIVERSIDE E82
RA Riverside E82 commands attention as our lot 1 herd sire prospect. Sired by the $132,000 Vermilion Riverside, this bull offers exceptional length of body, genuine power and dimension, all while maintaining the smooth shoulder and balance required in a slight calving ease-oriented herd bull. He is boldly sprung through his rib, long as a freight train and carries the herd bull presence that makes him easy to find in the pen. The maternal side is equally impressive, as he stems from a tremendous Mohnen Success 187 daughter that previously produced one of the sale topping bulls now working at Pleasant Valley Angus. When you combine proven genetics with this kind of phenotype and power, it’s easy to see why we believe so strongly in this standout herd sire prospect. We plan to flush his dam this spring.

If you want a super docile bull, this is the one! Lot 3 is a breed leader for disposition. E77 is a true curve bender that combines calving ease with real world performance. He’s a long bodied, deep ribbed bull with extra muscle shape and dimension from end to end while maintaining a smooth, attractive front third. E77 moves freely off a solid foot and stands down on the kind of structure required for longevity. If you’re searching for a bull that can be used with confidence on heifers while still adding payweight and muscle to the calf crop, keep a close eye on this standout in lot 3. This Revolution son is backed by a tremendous uddered and ultra feminine U2 Coalition daughter. This bull’s pedigree screams elite female maker (Grandam is the dam to lot 2.)

RA Riverside E57 is a bull that immediately grabs your attention with his sheer power and mass. Bold ribbed, deep sided and loaded with muscle expression, E57 carries the kind of dimension and substance that cattlemen appreciate. He stands on a big, correct foot and moves with the ease and structural integrity required for longevity. Adding even more value is his maternal backing, as he stems from an elite Pathfinder KG Justified 8007 daughter that is proving herself as a cornerstone female in our program, producing the Lot 3 bull in our sale last year selling to Walker Angus Ranch.
