UQAM is one of 10 institutions within the Université du Québec public university system that co-ordinates 1,400 programmes for more than 100,000 students in total, with approximately 100 of these programmes available at ESG UQAM. The school aims to integrate a wide range of disciplines and fields of study, hosting 40 research units and nine departments, as well as a Graduate School of Fashion, heralded as North America’s only French-speaking university centre for teaching, research and fashion creation. As of autumn 2024, there were just over 35,000 students at UQAM, with around 12,500 studying at ESG UQAM. The school’s alumni network, meanwhile, is estimated to number more than 100,000 graduates worldwide.

What has AMBA accreditation and membership of the AMBA network meant for your school? “AMBA accreditation has been transformative for us, solidifying our position as a leader in management education. This recognition also inspires us to continue fostering impactful education, preparing our graduates to address complex global challenges responsibly and effectively.” How would you describe your business school’s unique selling point (USP) to other members of the AMBA network? “ESG UQAM’s USP lies in its commitment to inclusivity, innovation and entrepreneurship, underpinned by a strong focus on responsible management. Our programmes integrate rigorous academics with experiential learning, preparing students to address global challenges while fostering creativity and entrepreneurial thinking. “Through initiatives such as our Centre for Entrepreneurship and the MT Lab, North America’s first incubator dedicated to tourism, culture and entertainment, we provide students with resources, mentorship and networking opportunities to develop and scale impactful ventures.”
