M. Nadeau, clôt un m arathon de plus d’un an. Peu après les dégâts qu’avaient subis le clocher, les assurances avaient déclaré ne pouvoir re m - bourser l’intégralité des travau x sous préte x te que le clocher était croche bien avant les vents.
Les travau x de rénovation avaient m algré tout co mm encé en septe m bre. Ils concernaient es- sentielle m ent la rénovation d’une des poutres du clocher fissuré et le dévisse m ent de certains boulons de la che m inée orne m entale.

EMBRUN Plus d’un an après la te m pête qui avait m is à m al le clocher, la paroisse St- Jacques d’E m brun est désor m ais sécuritaire. Les dernières rénovations viennent d’être achevées. « Tout est désor m ais ter m iné, s’est félicité Alain Clérou x de l’entreprise Clérou x Rénovations, re- sponsable des travau x . Nous avons consacré nos derniers efforts au printe m ps pour repeindre ainsi que quelques travau x de rajuste m ent du clocher. » Autre bonne nouvelle : le re m bourse m ent intégral de tous les frais de rénovation. Sur les 265 000 $ consacrés au x travau x , 75 000 $ ont été directe m ent récupérés grâce à l’assurance et quelque 170 000 $ ont été recueillis grâce à la générosité des cito y ens. « Nous avons beaucoup de dons, souligne Stéphane Nadeau, porte-parole du co m ité des affaires te m porelles de la paroisse. Certains résidents ont donné 10 $, d’autres 10 000 $. EMBRUN | Bus riders in Russell Township will have to get used to a new transit pass setup starting on Canada Day. A report on changes to the setup m oved through the June 5 special session of council with just one addition in an effort to keep fare rates fro m having to go up. Russell Township’s public transit service is linked to the Cit y of Ottawa’s OCTranspo as part of the co mm uter connection between the township and the other m unicipalit y . OC- Transpo has created a new regional transit pass s y ste m for its own bus service and all regional partners. This m eans that the old colour-coded Russell Transit passes will beco m e obsolete and invalid at the end of June. For the township, the changeover m eans a budget saving of $230 a m onth or $2,760 each y ear because of reduced cost for m aking passes. The m onthl y pass under the new s y ste m will use a photo identit y s y ste m so bus drivers can tell if so m eone is tr y ing to use another person’s pass. The price for single ticket and 10-ticket books of transit passes will re m ain the sa m e at $10 and
