The Men of Honour campaign is a peace-building initiative that focuses on positive behaviour to break the cycle of violence in PNG. To date, 95 PNG men have been recognised with an award for their outstanding community work building peace and addressing drivers of violence. Three regional ambassadors will be selected, one of whom will receive the ‘Unsung Hero’ Award. “We are proud to continue our partnership with Digicel PNG Foundation for the second year as the official carrier for the Men Of Honour Awards,” PNG Air’s chief commercial officer Simon C. Pitt said. “It is also perfect for our employees to see the work that they do every day being translated into helping address violence in the country, and to feel a sense of pride to be part of a movement in addressing an important issue.’’ The airline’s support includes return flights for the three ambassadors, the regional judge and two crew members, and ticket prizes for the winners. Digicel PNG Foundation chief executive officer Serena Sasingian thanked PNG Air for renewing its commitment. “We remain grateful for the partnerships we have with companies in the private sector as it is vital in our agenda to advocate against violence and promote positive behaviour through recognising positive role models in our communities,” Ms Sasingian said. “We thank PNG Air for its trust and contribution in showing recognition to ordinary men doing extraordinary work through this platform.’’ The Men of Honour Awards will be held in Port Moresby on April 18.

The club’s managing director Hubert Warupi thanked PNG Air’s support from day one. “Moving 21 people at any one time isn’t easy, but the service from the PNG Air staff has been exceptional,” he said. “PNG Air is our preferred travel partner and I encourage all other franchises to do the same.” The Central Dabaris hope to improve their standing from last year in the 2023 season of the Digicel Cup and PNG Air wishes the club the very best with its campaign.
