Executive Summary
The University of Liverpool is seeking to appoint an industry-leading engineering professional to take up the key role of Head of Engineering Services Group. The University of Liverpool has a diverse and complex property portfolio, incorporated within the main Liverpool City Centre Campus and associated satellite sites. Many of the buildings and assets within the portfolio are listed or are of historic importance so any construction, refurbishment or modernisation works must be carefully considered and delivered to an exemplar standard. Reporting to the Director of Capital Projects and Estate Strategy, the Head of Engineering Services Group will provide engineering strategy and leadership on design and construction activities across maintenance, compliance, minor works and major capital projects. In this senior management role you will lead the provision of a comprehensive service to support all aspects of the design, operability and maintainability of the engineering and infrastructure building services and the associated engineering strategy within the University estate, primarily focused on supporting the Capital Projects, Design Group and Property functions. The post will play a key role in the realisation of the University’s £1bn Masterplan Estate Strategy. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of operating at a senior level in the engineering industry across large-scale, technically complex estate and infrastructure portfolios. You have experience across design, construction/ installation and maintenance and operations and will be capable of managing a multidisciplinary engineering services team. A technical background in engineering and attainment to chartered level is essential.
