Role Purpose and Univers Facilities, Residential And Commercial Services (Frcs) Role Profile – Head Of Engineering Services Group (Grade 9) Role Overview: The role is to provide Head of Engineering Services Strategy on design and works, which includes building maintenance, as well as mechanical and elect alterations/improvements and minor value capital projects within the value b £25K to £120M. The role holder will provide support to colleagues of FRCS on all constructio maintenance related projects overseeing the procurement of projects being both by the University’s own staff and its Approved Consultants and Contrac A senior management role whose purpose is to manage the provision of a comprehensive service to support all aspects of the design, operability and of the engineering and infrastructure building services and the associated en strategy within the University estate, primarily focused on supporting the Ca the Design Group and Property functions, through active consultation with all stakeholders and the coordination of relevant project activities.
The role holder will report to the Director of Capital Projects and Estate Strategy within the Engineering Services Strategy Group of FRCS forming part of the Professional Service Team.
The role holder will work to facilitate improved levels of integration between sections of FRCS by establishing agreed performance standards, project pro processes and methodologies related to the engineering services and infras The role holder will also ensure that projects are delivered to the agreed pro budget and quality, working to recognised Project Management standards. Undertakes project and financial management of individual schemes and ass preparation of feasibility schemes, budget/pre-tender estimates, tender and information, ensuring that expenditure is within agreed budgets, and that acc cash flow forecasts are provided to assist the Finance Department with finan and identifying the necessary funding requirements. The role holder will work closely with FRCS colleagues such as the Design G Projects Group, Property and Space Group and our own internal subsidiary c including our energy company (ULEC) and our construction company ULCC along with our Estates Management Team to ensure projects are delivered t standards, within the agreed programme and within the approved budget all safe way following the Health and Safety policies of the University.
