CORNERSTONE Photonics Innovation Centre (C-PIC) The CORNERSTONE Photonics Innovation Centre (C-PIC) is the UK’s technology hub for silicon photonics. Our mission is to build a pipeline of silicon photonics enabled companies serving multiple industry sectors by 2030, underpinned by our open-source silicon photonics foundry. C-PIC offers flexible prototyping, design consultancy, start-up support, and networking events. In addition, £2m of flexible Innovation Funding will be deployed to grow and enrich the community in support of our mission over the next 4 years. We offer 7 technology platforms to support a wide range of applications including telecoms, sensing, LiDAR, quantum and more. Each platform has a standard component library, lowering the barrier to entry and enabling users to focus on applications. This flexible approach helps us to support early-stage R&D projects and successfully fabricate proof of concept prototypes.
