HÉLÈNE RAVLICH VIEW’s top journo and go-to interviewer of celebrities, writers, filmmakers, media personalities, performers, artists, movers & shakers and, well, people. Q : You’re waking up in the brand-new year that is 2022 – what is your very first thought? A : “I need to take the dogs out for a pee.” Q : What is one thing you couldn’t do in 2021 that is first on your to-do list in 2022? A : Overseas travel – if that eventuates or not is another thing... I was hoping to be in Morocco for my birthday this March, chances are slim! Q : If you could travel anywhere, near or far, in 2022 where would that be? A : See the last question – Marrakech, in a heartbeat. It is the city of my dreams and makes my heart sing. Q : Your dream event to watch or attend in 2022? A : In the age of Covid, I’ve given up on making plans – especially when it comes to attending events. I’m happy just being able to leave the house these days, ha ha! Q : Is there anything that you started doing in 2021 that you intend to keep up in 2022? A : Rolling with the times, and not trying to fight what is out of my control. Being more fluid definitely helped with keeping sane over the last year, and remembering to prioritise what really matters. Q : Your biggest hope for 2022? A : More love, more kindness and more community – there just feels like there is so much division at the moment, which isn’t good for any of us.

Q : What is one thing you couldn’t do in 2021 that is first on your to-do list in 2022? A : Watching/listening/eating ... but not at home! Q : If you could travel anywhere, near or far, in 2022 where would that be? A : Tokyo – for a dose of the completely different. Q : Your dream event to watch or attend in 2022? A : The opera in Vienna Q : Is there anything that you started doing in 2021 that you intend to keep up in 2022? A : The restricted life reminded me how much satisfaction I get from learning – learning anything really, big or small. Q : Your biggest hope for 2022? A : That people will realise when enough is enough.
