Qualifications/ Education • Masters degree level education plus a post graduate management qualification. • Professional qualification (Engineering or construction discipline)

Professionals/ Statutory Registration • Relevant capital projects professional registration e.g. architect, engineering, surveying or in construction or design.

Skills & Abilities • Awareness of change management tools and techniques • Excellent understanding of capital programme delivery. • Highly developed communication skills, with ability to communicate highly complex information where exceptional influencing skills are required. • Highly developed leadership skills with the ability to enthuse, motivate and involve individuals and teams, and have them understand the Trust-wide and local performance expectations. • Personality and capability to work on very large scale projects with a diverse range of external partners either as the Lead or as part of a team. • Excellent technical expertise and understanding of building systems, legislation and service requirements • across a diverse portfolio. • Business administration including business planning, budget management, accounting, IT and business processes. • Strong customer focussed approach. • A positive and creative “can do” approach. • Possessing a high level of commercial acumen, with the experience and nous to work with partner organisations to deliver projects with the best interests of GSTT under consideration.

Previous experience • Relevant experience in successful delivery of a complex capital programme with responsibility for procuring and managing major capital programmes: • in excess of £50m in value. • in live, physically congested, high public footfall, urban environments. • delivering projects to time, budget and providing outcomes as articulated in governance. • Strategic planning including sourcing options and procurement for major capital programmes. • Strong knowledge and experience of contract management and procurement, cost management and budgeting and supply chain management. • In depth experience of managing capital construction projects gained working for large multi-site organisations. • Relevant experience working in a senior position for a large organisation.
