marked and everyone plays from there and if not holed then everyone plays from the closes ball to the cup until it is put into the hole, and you are on to the next hole. This format is fun for everyone, because everyone will contribute in one way or another to your team. Just bring your clubs, balls and a willingness to have fun. Teams change every week, so you never know what new friend is waiting to meet you. $5 to play On Thursdays you have a fun way of working on your game in a team format. You will play your own ball, but handicaps will be used to even up play. Most times only two scores from your team will be used per hole, so every hole is a new chance to help your team. At the end of the round, you may be surprised to see just how many times your score was used to help your team, but please remember that having fun remains the top priority. $5 to play
Stay in the know and ask what you don ’ t know from the people that know. You can find out what golf tournaments are happening by stopping by the starter shack (there is a list of all events and monthly calendars are available while supplies last), asking Ryln the golf coordinator what is in store, look at the daily ORPS for big tournaments and the Oracle also has what is going on for the month. Coming February 13th & 14th February Brings the Sweetheart /Me and My Friend Tournament, and another way to enjoy a round of golf with friends. This tournament is a team event using a handicap score. A Team consists of two partners, Let ’ s call them “ A ” and “ B ”. Each partner tees off, then they choose the better ball to play, let ’ s say it is “ B ’ s ”, they pick up “ A ’ s ”’ ball and put in their pocket. Alternating shots, “ A ’ s ” now plays “ B ’ s ” ball and then “ B ” plays the ball, then back to “ A ’ s ” and so on, until the ball is holed. No substituting the other partner ’ s ball. Hitting out of turn is a “ one stroke ” penalty and replayed by rightful player. Prizes will be given out on Saturday at the luncheon. Each participant ’ s lot number will be placed on one ticket and randomly drawn. We will draw as many as 120 tickets and they will win a prize to be determined. You need not be present to win. We will have food served afterwards, as if the game wasn ’ t a good enough reason to join in the fun. $40 for a two-person team to play. CanAm Tournament is a Shotgun start with Two-person team ’ s maximum of four people per tee box. Each golfer hits their own ball throughout the round but only one score per team is recorded on each hole. After each hole, the best scores of both teams are compared and the team with the lowest score is said to have won the hole. The same thing occurs for every hole until the match ends. $10 per person to play, (Pizza Friday midday) Each player will play for a gross score paired by handicaps or as close as possible. Prizes to winning teams are CanAm medals. HIO pot.
