Nightingale Partnership Comes Home
Working with award-winning carbon neutral developer, Nightingale has allowed Housing Choices to explore a number of different housing models – from Housing Choices as developer in Bowden Adelaide, to acquisition/turnkey at Nightingale Village in Brunswick. Housing Choices General Manager of Property Development, James Henry said values alignment and flexibility were key to the partnership’s success. “It’s been really beneficial to have agility around delivery of projects as well as mutual trust around quality of homes and quality of communities. Our relationship has enabled us to deliver in a range of dierent ways with a variety of funding models and risk allocations.” Housing Choices has more than 38 apartments across Victoria in Nightingale Village and Nightingale Anstey – both in Brunswick - and Ballarat, our first regional site with Nightingale. Designed by Breathe Architects, Nightingale Ballarat features one, two and three-bedroom apartments as well as a shared rooftop garden and commercial space on the ground floor. Housing Choices owns and manages social housing apartments across the development, including four fitted to specialist disability standards. Also designed by Breathe Architects, Nightingale Bowden in Adelaide’s inner city, features 36 aordable and social apartments and was made possible through an innovative partnership between Housing Choices South Australia, Renewal SA, SA Housing Authority and Nightingale Housing, with construction delivered by Hindmarsh Australia.
Nightingale Bowden is fossil fuel-free and includes 100% GreenPower, secure bicycle parking, private balconies, a shared rooftop space with veggie gardens, and stunning views of the Adelaide skyline. The entire development is aordable housing, with 50% as rentals managed by Housing Choices.
