Welcome to the fourteenth annual Namken Red Angus Production Sale! It’s an exciting time to be in the cattle business. After the sacrifices this work requires, it feels good to see those efforts rewarded. Whether you’re marketing a calf crop you bred and raised or finally selling that old cow that needs a new home, strong markets seem to put a little extra spring in everyone’s step, even when the weather isn’t cooperating. Our program starts with one priority: a strong, maternal cow, followed by growth. We run our own commercial cows, test our bulls on them, and finish every animal that doesn’t make the replacement pen. How many seedstock producers can say that? We are truly excited about this year’s offering as this set of bulls has been especially fun to watch develop. They’ve been raised the same way we do it every year, developed to be athletes, not fat bulls that melt down by midsummer. Each year we’re humbled by the number of comments we hear like, “Your bulls hold up better than any others we’ve purchased.” That means a great deal to us. SEMEN TEST Every bull will pass a semen test before it leaves. Bulls will be tested AFTER the sale. SEMEN INTEREST Namken Red Angus will retain a 1/3 in herd semen interest in every bull in the sale. Buyer is buying 2/3 semen interest, full possession and salvage value. DELIVERY Delivery on bulls will start around April 1, after they have passed a semen test. Bulls will be delivered the first 400 miles for free. Heifers are buyers responsibility to be picked up. VOLUME DISCOUNT We will give a 10% discount on the 10th bull purchased from Namken Red Angus over any period of time. This allows even the smallest buyers to receive volume discounts! For your convenience, Namken Red Angus will keep track of your number of purchases. TERMS The terms of the sale are cash and the right of property shall not pass until after the settlement is made. All settlements must be made immediately following conclusion of the sale as no cattle will be released until settlement has been made. CONDITIONS All cattle sell according to the suggested Terms and Conditions of the Red Angus Association of America. PURCHASER’S RISK Each animal becomes purchaser’s risk as soon as the auctioneer says sold. The Hugo daughters are making productive females and the sons are exhibiting moderate birthweights and great growth. Hugo is a bull that has been a herd changer by improving feet, scrotal, udders and teats. Hugo’s dam, 227F, comes from the highly maternal Sierra cow family. 227F is proving her maternal ability with a 107 MPPA and has made her way into the donor program. Hugo is deceased with limited semen.

The age-old adage comes to mind that “Good bulls come from good cows and cow families.” Bold Ruler’s dam is moderate framed broody female with a gorgeous udder with a 107 MPPA. In Bold Ruler’s four generation pedigree, the average MPPA is 106. I have faith that Bold Ruler’s daughters will be productive brood cows.
