Un dibujo realizado en 1970, hace 43 años, para la revista española Hogar y Arquitectura, plasma en forma excepcional la postura de Borchers respecto de la diferencia entre la figura geométrica y la arquitectura. Como geometría, la línea, el plano y el volumen son algo regular, ordenado y homogéneo, mientras que las mismas figuras en arquitectura, son lo contrario. Este dibujo apareció en la revista sin el volumen opuesto al cubo. No podemos saber si fue Borchers quien lo eliminó o la revista misma. Lo que es evidente es la anticipación a lo que la arquitectura actual está produciendo. Al costado, un dibujo de detalle de la obra de Chillán, donde se aprecia claramente el concepto.
A drawing from 1970, 43 years ago, for the Spanish
magazine Hogar y Arquitectura, exceptionally captures Borchers’ stance on the difference between the geometric figure and architecture. In geometry, line, plane and volume are regular, ordered and homogeneous, whereas the same figures in architecture are the opposite. This drawing appeared in the magazine without the volume opposite the cube. We don’t know if it was Borchers who removed it or the journal itself. What is evident is the anticipation to what architecture is producing today. Next to it, a detail drawing of the work in Chillán clearly shows the concept.
