Esta obra se emplaza en el centro invernal El Colorado, a 40 kms. de Santiago, a 2.400 mts. de altura aprox. El programa consiste en 14 refugios organizados en 12 departamentos dúplex y dos departamentos de un nivel ubicados en el piso superior. Debido a la condición del lugar, donde la naturaleza se manifiesta de forma excepcional, los interiores se vinculan permanentemente con el paisaje, ya sea enmarcando pequeñas vistas o creando grandes panorámicas desde los distintos recintos. El diseño, la materialidad y la tecnología constructiva se focalizaron en lograr confort térmico con bajo consumo energético a futuro. La estructura de hormigón armado se recubrió con un producto aislante del tipo EIFS (Exteriror Insulation and Finish System) que permite maximizar el efecto de inercia térmica.
This work is located at the El Colorado winter resort, 40 km from Santiago, approximately 2,400 meters above sea level. The functional program includes 14 lodges arranged in 12 duplex apartments and two single level units located on the top floor. Due to the condition of the place -with an extraordinary manifestation of nature- the interiors are permanently connected with the landscape, whether framing small views or creating great panoramic vistas from the different rooms. The design, materials and construction technology were focused on achieving thermal comfort with low energy consumption in the future. The reinforced concrete structure was coated with an EIFS ( Exterior Insulation and Finish System ) that maximizes the thermal inertia effect.
