El proyecto se emplaza donde se ubicaba la antigua piscina olímpica del municipio. El acceso peatonal se realiza por Av. Santa Rosa, a través de una gran explanada. Así, el Centro Cultural Espacio Matta se articula por un lado con la Municipalidad y, por el otro, con un paseo peatonal. Sus espacios interiores se organizan de manera versátil gracias a la inclusión de un fondo escénico móvil que permite abrir la espacialidad de forma longitudinal, transformando al edificio en espacios dinámicos y conexos. El volumen contiene una sala principal, el auditorio multiuso con butacas que remata en el volumen de doble altura que contiene el mural. The project is located on the former site of the municipal olympic pool. The pedestrian access faces a large esplanade on Santa Rosa Avenue. So the Matta Space Cultural Center is articulated on one side with the Municipal building and on the other with a pedestrian promenade. The interior spaces have a flexible organization thanks to the inclusion of a mobile scenic background that allows a lengthwise opening of the space, turning the building into a series of dynamic and connected areas. The volume contains a main hall, the multiuse auditorium with seating, and ends in a double height space containing the mural.
