El proyecto se conecta peatonalmente con el edificio contiguo a nivel zócalo y primer piso por medio del patio resultante de la forma convexa del edificio, generando un anfiteatro como espacio de reunión y representación dentro del campus. La cubierta parcialmente habitable incorpora las vistas hacia el parque San Borja, el campus y, en una escala más lejana, el paisaje del Cerro San Cristóbal. El resultado formal y visual del edificio es consecuencia de un desarrollo proyectual por etapas, resolviendo en la primera los requerimientos de “datos duros” (normativa, superficie, presupuesto, etc.) bajo un partido general claro, y en la segunda incorporando variables arquitectónicas que amplíen su registro (estructura, recorrido, materialidad, sistema constructivo, etc). Así, entre el anteproyecto adjudicado y el proyecto construido se dio una transformación proyectual que buscó agregar valor al edificio, transitando entre la complejidad formal-espacial y la simplicidad funcional-programática. The project has pedestrian connectivity with the adjacent building at the base and first floor levels by means of the courtyard resulting from the convex shape of the building, creating an amphitheater as meeting space and representation on campus. The partially habitable roof incorporates views of San Borja Park, the campus and on a more distant scale, the landscape of San Cristobal hill. The formal and visual definition of the building is the result of a development project done in stages, solving first the requirements for "hard data" (regulations, area, budget, etc.) with a clear parti, and second, incorporating architectural variables that extend its range (structure, circulation, materials, construction systems, etc). Therefore, between the sanctioned preliminary draft and the built project a design transformation has taken place, seeking to add value to the building, moving between formal and spatial complexity and functional-programmatic simplicity.
