Esta propuesta ambiciona establecer un parque como ecosistema, donde las condiciones existentes y aquellas añadidas por el nuevo programa conviven como un organismo total y simbiótico. Los edificios culturales y de vivienda se sitúan orgánicamente dentro de este gran ecosistema que abarca no sólo la isla Cautín, el río y su brazo, sino también la vecindad de Padre Las Casas. Hay un deseo de parte de los arquitectos de ir más allá de ideas sostenibles de corto plazo, mostrando cómo un parque se puede convertir en una serie de sistemas auto eficientes y productivos, engendrando industrias de ocio y cultivos a la vez. Uno de los muchos logros de esta propuesta son los múltiples senderos y caminos que se establecen en el parque, que fluyen desde la entrada al parque de la ciudad hasta el río y sus dos litorales. This proposal aspires to establish a park as an ecosystem, where the existing conditions and those added by the new functional program live as a comprehensive and symbiotic organism. The cultural and housing buildings are organically placed within this large ecosystem that includes not only Cautín Island, the river and its smaller arm, but also the neighboring town of Padre Las Casas. The architects wish to go beyond short-term sustainable ideas, showing how a park can turn into a series of self sufficient and productive systems, generating leisure industries and crops at the same time. One of the many accomplishments of this proposal are the park’s multiple paths and roads, flowing from the city entrance to the river and its two banks.
