relación de la escuela naval con sus ejes / Relationship of the Naval Academy with its axis
Spatial Proposal: macro coordinates of the place The site brings together: - A northeast-southwest axis linking the recreational relationship between geography and successive spaces of leisure: the sea, the park of the Naval Academy and the climax of the sporting, recreational and cultural area of Playa Ancha Stadium. - A northwest-southeast axis linking the institutional-educational activities of the Naval Academy, with the Living Quarters Building and the Cannon Courtyard. The convergence of the axes will consolidate the threshold; the door will be the Auditorium and Extension Center, bringing together the public and institutional community. Volumetric Proposal: coordinates of form The volumes of the Naval Academy are considered iconic, and the Auditorium and Extension Center are subordinated to this hegemony. They collect and recognize their lines, axis, and proportions and occupy the site as a with a semi public volume, introverted, so as not to compete or visually pollute the environment. It is a volume that is governed by the laws and orders of the historical protagonists, and also by the natural laws governing the park. The low volume reflects in its interior the austere orthogonal order of the Cannon Courtyard and the Living Quarters Building, while at the same time integrates through its roof-terrace-garden, opens and hugs the tree grove as a solid articulator of the building with the landscape in a new walkable identity; a lookout for the park, the Playa Ancha sector and the sea.
Propuesta espacial: coordenadas macro del lugar En el sitio convergen: - Un eje nororiente-surponiente que vincula la relación lúdica de la geografía con espacios sucesivos de solaz: el mar, el parque de la Escuela Naval y como remate en el área recreativo-deportiva y cultural del Estadio Playa Ancha. - Un eje norponiente-suroriente que vincula el quehacer formativo institucional de la Escuela Naval, con el Edificio de Habitabilidad y el Patio de los Cañones. En la convergencia de los ejes se consolidará el umbral, cuya puerta será el Aula Magna y Centro de Extensión que reunirá a la comunidad pública e institucional.
Propuesta volumétrica: coordenadas configuradoras
Los volúmenes de la Escuela Naval se reconocen como íconos, y el Aula Magna y Centro de Extensión se supeditan a dicha hegemonía, recogen y reconocen sus líneas, ejes, proporciones y se plantean en el lugar con un volumen semipúblico, introvertido, que no compite ni contamina visualmente el entorno. Un volumen que se rige por las leyes y órdenes de los protagonistas históricos, y también por las leyes naturales que rigen el parque. Un volumen de baja altura que refleja y trae a su interior el orden austero y ortogonal de la Plaza de los Cañones y del Edificio de Habitabilidad, pero también integra en su techo-terraza-jardín que se bifurca y abraza el macizo de árboles como el articulador de la obra con el paisaje en una nueva identidad recorrible; un mirador del parque, del sector Playa Ancha y del mar.
