Diseño Urbano, Arquitectura y Paisajismo para la Costanera de Valdivia Urban Design, Architecture and Landscaping for the Valdivia Waterfront Promenade
El municipio de Valdivia busca mejorar su emblemática costanera, integrándola a la ciudad y generando espacios para la diversidad, además de potenciar a Valdivia como una ciudad turística de nivel internacional.
The Valdivia city government seeks to improve its famous waterfront promenade, integrating it into the city and creating spaces for diversity, as well as boosting Valdivia as an international level tourist destination.
Abierto a arquitectos y equipos multidisciplinarios liderados por arquitectos de todo Chile, el concurso planteó la intervención del tramo de 2 kilómetros comprendido entre los puentes Calle Calle y Pedro de Valdivia, abarcando todo el perfil de la costanera a fin de remodelar el principal paseo peatonal de la ciudad de Valdivia. Los trabajos debían abordar propuestas de solución para los sistemas de circulación y conexión vehicular, peatonal y fluvial, rescatar hitos urbanos y proponer espacios nuevos, además de resaltar la relación de la ciudad con el río. En total, se presentaron 73 proyectos. El jurado lo integraron Maritza Lobos, en representación de Colegio de Arquitectos; Juan Pablo Ivanovic, de la Cámara Chilena de la Construcción; Mauricio Jelves, del Colegio Arquitectos Valdivia, y Roberto Martínez, director Escuela Arquitectura UACH. A ellos se agregaron representantes de la Municipalidad de Valdivia, Intendencia Regional, Ministerio Obras Públicas, Ministerio Vivienda y Gobernación Marítima. El certamen fue organizado por la Municipalidad de Valdivia con el patrocinio del Colegio de Arquitectos.
The competition –open to architects and multidisciplinary teams led by architects from all over Chile –dealt with the intervention of a two kilometer section between the Calle Calle and Pedro de Valdivia bridges, covering the whole profile of the waterfront in order to reshape the main pedestrian promenade of the city of Valdivia. The works were to address solutions for vehicle, pedestrian and river traffic and connection systems, rescue urban landmarks and propose new spaces, while stressing the relationship of the city and the river. A total of 73 projects were presented. The jury was composed by Maritza Lobos, representing the Association of Architects; Juan Pablo Ivanovic, of the Chilean Chamber of Construction; Mauricio Jelves, Association of Architects Valdivia chapter, and Roberto Martínez, director of the UACH Architecture School. They were joined by representatives from the Municipality of Valdivia, Regional Government, Ministries of Works and Housing and the coastguard authority. The contest was organized by the Municipality of Valdivia and sponsored by the Association of Architects.
