El edificio debía funcionar en su interior dentro de un rango de temperaturas entre 16 y 27°C sin la utilización de sistemas de refrigeración, lo cual exigía un óptimo control solar y de puentes térmicos. Asimismo, el tratamiento exterior de fachadas debía mantener una imagen contemporánea lo más neutra y minimalista posible y sin necesidad alguna de mantención en el tiempo, preservando una imagen noble y sólida de modo de resaltar la arquitectura de las viviendas históricas contiguas. Para este propósito el material escogido fueron placas cerámicas NBK utilizadas como revestimiento, que frente a las ventanas se giran para permitir la entrada de luz manteniendo un óptimo control solar.
The building was to function within an interior temperature range of 16 to 27°C without the use of cooling systems, which required an optimal solar and thermal bridge control. Also, the exterior treatment of facades was to present a contemporary and minimalist image, as neutral as possible, and with no need for future maintenance, preserving a noble and sound image in order to highlight the architecture of adjacent historic homes. For this purpose NBK ceramic tiles were chosen to build an operable membrane placed in front of the windows to allow the entry of light while maintaining an optimal solar control.
