Descripción En términos generales, entre reconstruir y partir de lo existente se opta por esta segunda alternativa, adoptando el espacio liberado por el derrumbe como oportunidad para entender la relación compleja entre pasado, presente y futuro. A partir de la tipología original del Palacio –que ponía en relación la galería en forma de cruz con el patio y sus corredores laterales– la obra nueva se encarga de llenar el espacio liberado por el derrumbe de las construcciones originales, devolviendo al edificio su estructura espacial original. Representando simbólicamente un entramado de andamios, la intervención pone el énfasis en la condición temporal y dinámica de la recuperación patrimonial, haciendo alusión a una "obra en proceso", y a la reversibilidad de las operaciones que sobre él se efectúan. Description Overall, between rebuilding and starting from the remains we opt for the second alternative, taking the space freed by the collapse as an opportunity to understand the complex relationship between past, present and future. From the original typology of the Palace –which related the cross- shaped gallery with the patio and its side corridors– the new work manages to fill the space vacated by the collapse of the original buildings, reinstating the original spatial structure of the building. Symbolically representing a network of scaffolding, the intervention emphasizes the temporary condition and the dynamics of heritage recovery, referring to a "work in progress", and the reversibility of the operations that are performed on it.
