La re-materialización Así como en sus orígenes esta construcción fue referente del status económico y social de sus propietarios, la naciente revolución industrial le permitió a sus arquitectos y constructores aportar la innovación de incorporar las galerías con cubiertas acristaladas, sostenidas con cerchas de acero, a la par de sus similares europeas. Por tanto, el empleo del acero el referente de continuidad con la historia. El código visual del acero cortén como ícono de austera fortaleza, estará presente en los puentes, plataformas-altillos, confinamiento de vanos y soportes de muro cortina. De la integración pasado-presente El programa de los sectores a reconstruir se acogerá en nuevos espacios anclados a las huellas latentes del origen. Se asimilarán las directrices geométricas del edificio, conservando modulaciones y gestos estructurales de masividad en muros y machones, pero rodeados de envolventes ligeras y transparentes para una amigable relación con el patio. De la permeabilidad institucional interior Los nuevos sub-ejes lineales norte sur, reabiertos o creados, aportarán fluidez a la circulación en distintos niveles, tanto en los de uso más intensivo como las dependencias del CMN, o las zonas de acceso más restringido, como la Dibam. Estas sendas facilitarán la interacción entre Biblioteca, Centro de Documentación, Áreas de Arquitectura, Arqueología, etc., y rematando todos en los sectores destinados a la distención y contacto social, como la cafetería o el casino; entorno al patio- plaza, el cual puede cubrirse a voluntad y adoptar el rol de un nuevo espacio público interior. Permeability of the institutional interior The new linear north south minor axis, reopened or introduced, will provide flow to circulation on the different levels, in both the more intensively used such as the CMN premises, or in restricted access areas such as Dibam. These paths will facilitate the interaction between Library, Documentation Center, areas of Architecture, Archeology, etc., and ending them all in areas for recreation and social contact, such as the cafeteria or the dining hall; around the courtyard plaza, which can be covered at will and take the role of a new interior public space.
