A MESSAGE FROM HEAD OF YEAR 10
Another great week for our Year 10s. I met with the nominated Form Captains, Sports and Eco reps for each of the Year 10 forms this week. We want these roles to be more specific and focused now we are in Key Stage 4. The representatives have been asked to deliver a presentation relevant to their role each half-term to their form group. The Form Captains will present on wellbeing and look at the ‘enjoy’ part of our school ethos. The Sports Captain will be sharing sports news from both inside Waldegrave and the wider sporting world. Finally, the Eco Rep will be sharing what Waldegrave is doing to support our environment and what the news is around the world. We hope that this gives the representatives more of a focus and a voice in their form groups.

On Friday 17 October we have the Year 10 Open Morning coming up. All letters have been shared with parents/carers and can also be found on our website here.
We are very excited for parents to be invited into school to meet with your child/rens tutors and hope as many of you can make it as possible.

BOOK OF THE MONTH
‘King of Nothing’ by Nathanael Lessore
I really really really enjoyed this book! I specifically enjoyed how realistic and actually quite intense it was towards the end. The characters are all written so well. For example I really like how you can tell Anton is not as bad as Kehinde from the start when he kind of defended Mathew when Kehinde was about to give him a hard time. The scene where Mathew and Anton are at a sleepover and they’re talking about his nan made me cry! It was just so wholesome and the boys’ unexpected friendship is such a lovely part of the book.
