February’s Selections for the New Worlds Reading Initiative
As students reach the second half of the program, they can feel a growing sense of pride in what they have accomplished as readers. Families will observe their children’s reading skills and stamina building as their children enjoy each new book. Families can also continue to engage their children in conversations about their reading even as the children are reading more independently. In April, students will continue to expand their reading interests as they discover new authors, series, genres, or text structures. The following pages describe the specific books children will receive this month.
