the purity which is given to those who have received Christ as Saviour (Psa. 51:7). Following this we see yellow, representing the golden streets of the heavenly city. If we accept Christ as Saviour, we will some day walk on the golden streets. Now you can see why I call this the world’s longest ladder, because it reaches from the sins of earth to Heaven.

Objects: A pair of scissors and 4 pieces of paper 6x10 (not too stiff), colored black, red, white and yellow. (Paste these sheets together lengthwise in the order mentioned. Beginning with the loose end of the yellow, make 5 or 6 small rolls. Press this roll flat so that it will not unwind. Begin with this flat roll, and make a large round roll, about the size of the middle finger, using the remainder of the yellow and the other colors.) Lesson: What is the longest ladder you have ever seen? I hear someone say, “ The firemen’s ladder.” The ladder about which I want to talk to you this morning is longer than the firemen’s ladder—it reaches from earth to Heaven. This round roll of black paper does not look like a ladder —much less like one which reaches from earth to Heaven. (Arrange the round roll so that the flat roll will he at the bottom. Cut down from the top of the round roll, to, but not through, the flat roll. This should be done twice, two inches from each end, leaving a space of two inches in the middle. Bend the two outside sections at right angles to the middle section. Cut across the mid dle section about a quarter of an inch from the flat roll on both sides of the flat roll. Hold the two outside sections at right angles to the middle section, and pull on the flat yellow roll. This will make a ladder.)

Objects: A paper handbag. (Make by using a piece of paper 8% x ll inches, or larger as visibility requires. Fold the paper to make the size 414x11 inches. Fold again, making the size 4%x5Vs inches. With the single fold to your left,

and the double fold nearest you, begin cutting the lower right side. Cut toward the top and middle, making half the shape of a woman’s handbag. Open one fold, and on the front side, in the mid dle, cut out a half inch strip from top to bottom. Between the edges where the strip has been cut, print vertically the word “ GIVE.” Open the handbag, and using the letters in the word “ GIVE,” complete the following words: “ GOLD, TIME, LOVE, TALENTS.” Crease the front of the handbag in order that it will fold down just below the word “ GOLD.” It should be creased below each word, so that each will be hidden until desired for use during the lesson. (Color the inside and outside of the hand bag a light brown.) Lesson: Who can guess what I am holding in my hand? (Show the back of the handbag.) “ It looks like a handbag.” It is made to represent a handbag, and instead of initials, we see the word “ GIVE.” When we think of giving, we are reminded of Moses’ instruction to the children of Israel: “ Take ye from among you an offering unto the Lord: T H E K I N G ' S B U S I N E S S

Here is the ladder. It reminds me of the ladder Jacob saw in his dream—it reaches from earth to Heaven. The first color is black, reminding us that “ all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Rom. 3:23). The second color is red, speaking of the blood of Christ, which cleanses from all sin (1 John 1:7). The next color is white, telling of
