Sailing from the UK is one of the most popular ways for Britons to take a cruise holiday. If you hate the stress of airports, have mobility needs, are travelling with a young family, or just fancy a short break cruise; sailing from the UK may be the perfect solution. Many of the larger cruise lines now base a selection of cruise ships year-round at larger UK ports such as Southampton, Dover, and Harwich. You can also sail from Newcastle, Hull, Leith, Greenock, Rosyth,

Liverpool, Portsmouth, and Tilbury.

for cruises to the Iberian coastline. Join your ship in Dover and head for Norway or embark at Tilbury and spend the festive season in the Canaries and Madeira.

Sailing from a UK port is no different than sailing from a foreign port. You should plan to arrive at the port in plenty of time before the set-sail time, usually no earlier than mid-day. Also, there is often no restriction on how much luggage you choose to take with you; as long as it actually fits in your cabin!

Sail from Southampton to the Norwegian Fjords or Newcastle is the departure point
