La zona de productos de valor coincide con las zonas de resistencia al fuego, que permiten acortar distancia hacia zonas vigiladas y utilizar ese volumen de hormigón armado para conformar grandes volúmenes metálicos repetitivos. Creando esquina y aristando el espacio antihorario se logra un edificio para una función bastante autónoma, con espacios para que utilicen y habiten los operarios. El Centro de Distribución CCU Curauma busca marcar presencia dentro del área industrial en la que se emplaza. La situación particular del terreno, en pendiente, se trabaja con un corte intermedio y se genera un gran terraplén regular a 2 m por sobre el nivel de la calle exterior, privilegiando la geometría y presencia urbana del recinto.
El edificio busca presentar una imagen moderna y distintiva mediante la utilización de materiales sólidos y duraderos como el hormigón, el acero y revestimientos metálicos en tres variedades de color y textura, contrastando con el paisaje verde circundante y su paisajismo de laderas. Las esquinas se acentúan con elementos verticales que realzan el carácter de solidez, modernidad y proyección corporativa. En los edificios menores de administración se utiliza un alero galería abierta diseñada como elemento de protección y circulación de todas las actividades de apoyo. La portería y otros recintos dialogan con el cuerpo mayor tanto en materialidad como funcionalidad, ofreciendo, mediante la eficiencia del diseño y la calidad de sus espacios, el mayor confort posible a quienes allí laboran. Destacan las perforaciones de la fachada principal, que por arquitectura responden al diseño de ventilación de los espacios interiores climatizados, acompañan la circulación de personal e insumos por el interior del edificio mayor, evocando el dinamismo y lo transitorio. Un entramado de pilares estructurales ubicados en la modulación da sustento a una cubierta de protección de las actividades y mercancías en movimiento. El acceso de tarjetas control peatonal muestra la simplicidad misma de los elementos de cubierta arquitectónica y sujeciones a terreno, en que no hay nada para enlucir, solo el espacio para el acceso. The particular situation of the sloped site is dealt with a mid-level cut generating a large regular embankment 2 m above the outer street level, favoring the geometry and urban presence of the enclosure. The building aims to present a modern and distinctive image through the use of strong, durable materials such as concrete, steel and metal coatings in three varieties of color and texture, contrasting with the surrounding green hillside landscape. The corners are accented with vertical elements that enhance the solid and modern character, as well as reflect corporate projection. In the minor administrative buildings an eaved open gallery is designed as protection and circulation element for all support activities. The gatehouse and other venues dialogue with the larger body both in material and function, offering - through design efficiency and quality of its spaces - the maximum comfort for those who work there. On the main façade a series of perforations stand out and respond to the design of ventilations for the air-conditioned indoor space. They follow the movement of personnel and supplies inside the main building, evoking dynamism and transience. A network of structural columns located according to the module supports a roof cover protecting the activities and moving goods. The pedestrian control card access shows the same simplicity of the architectural roof cover elements and fixtures to the ground, there is nothing to embellish, only the access space.
