Costanera Lyon es un edificio de oficinas de 16 pisos construido en la esquina de Nueva de Lyon con Av. Andrés Bello, mirando al río Mapocho y al Parque de las Esculturas en Providencia. Fue concebido como la primera piedra en la renovación urbana del barrio Suecia, tras la retirada de los numerosos locales nocturnos que habían terminado por deteriorar su perfil residencial y comercial. Una modificación al plan regulador aumentó la altura máxima permitida en el sector a partir del año 2007, incentivando así la venta de terrenos para nuevos desarrollos inmobiliarios. El edificio fue pensado como parte de la ciudad, integrando y mejorando los recorridos existentes en el corazón de la manzana de Providencia, aumentando la plusvalía del sector y marcando el inicio de un nuevo polo de oficinas. Diseñado como un edificio sustentable, postula a certificación LEED Silver. Costanera Lyon is a 16 story office building on the corner of Nueva de Lyon Street and Andrés Bello Avenue, overlooking the Mapocho River and the Sculpture Park in the Providencia district. It was conceived as the cornerstone in the Suecia neighborhood urban renewal, following the withdrawal of the many nightclubs that had ended up deteriorating its residential and commercial profile. A 2007 amendment to the city plan increased the maximum height allowed in the sector, thus encouraging the sale of land for new developments. The building was designed as part of the city, integrating and improving existing routes in the heart of the Providencia block, increasing the added value of the sector and ushering in a new corporate office center. Designed as a sustainable building, it is applying for LEED Silver status.
