La forma responde a lo anterior a partir de la siguiente operación: liberar el suelo y la cubierta para que coexistan con el barrio. De esta manera, el programa se desarrolla en un cuerpo de dos plantas que resuelve el programa suspendido sobre el plano del suelo. En los extremos del volumen se disponen los espacios que servirán como soporte de la vida más pública: un patio cubierto, protegido de la lluvia, y una terraza abierta sobre la Casona y el cerro. El edificio reconoce los dos sistemas constructivos del lugar: la arquitectura aérea, articulada, de pilares y vigas de madera que se encuentra en los espacios tal vez más simbólicos de la Escuela; sus túneles, el refectorio y la capilla. The form complies with the above through the following operation: it frees the ground level and the roof in order to coexist with the neighborhood. Consequently, the functional program is distributed in a two-story body that suspends the program over the ground. The spaces arranged at the ends of the volume serve as support for public life: a covered patio, protected from rain, and an open terrace overlooking the Mansion and the hill. The building recognizes both of the construction systems of the site: the aerial, articulated architecture, with wooden columns and beams to be found in the, perhaps, most symbolic spaces of the School: its tunnels, the refectory and chapel.
