Casa de Otto Santo Domingo
The house is located in the resort of Santo Domingo, on a central block planted with eucalyptus trees; a very secluded and disarranged woodland. The idea was to keep the original forest, so there is no project on the ground; the site is left in its natural state. The construction presents itself as a haven in the forest. Access is via a dirt road, curving among the trees so as not to see the end until you find the wooden volume, raised on short stilts (2.20 meters). This volume is compact, since it is not meant to create a clearing but to mingle with the trees in their vicinity (in the middle of the block they are protected from the wind). To couple with the forest the house rounds its contours. So the living room, comprising a good part of the area, surrounds a tree, a living room around a small yard with a large tree in the center, therefore with overhead sunshine. The bedrooms surround it on one side, without the need for a hallway. The house is connected to the ground by a ramp.
La casa se ubica en el balneario de Santo Domingo, en una manzana central plantada de eucaliptos, un bosque bastante cerrado, desordenado. La idea era mantener el bosque original, de modo que no hay proyecto de suelo, el terreno se deja en estado natural. La construcción se presenta como un reducto inmerso en el bosque. Se accede por un camino de tierra girando en curva entre los árboles para no ver el fondo hasta encontrarse con el volumen de madera, elevado sobre pilotes a pequeña altura (2.20 metros). Este volumen es compacto, pues se trata de no hacer un claro sino mezclarse con los árboles en su proximidad (en el centro de una manzana están protegidos del viento). Para ensamblarse con el bosque la casa redondea su contorno. De este modo el living, abarcando una buena superficie, rodea un árbol. Un living alrededor de un pequeño patio con gran árbol al centro, por tanto con sol cenital. Los dormitorios lo rodean por un lado, sin necesidad de ningún pasillo. La casa se comunica con el terreno a través de una rampa.
