Los dos pisos de las oficinas originales se unían a través de una caja de escalera de tramo semicircular atravesando la losa de hormigón. La primera operación de arquitectura fue cambiar el concepto de dos plantas unidas a través de una escalera, al de tres pisos unidos espacialmente por un atrio en el cual se desarrolla una escalera curva. La escalera fue proyectada como un recorrido espacial elíptico que se despliega por el atrio en forma de dos curvas continuas y enfrentadas, constituyéndose en un transitar arquitectónico. Se dio forma a la escalera como un objeto recorrible, como una estructura singular flotando en el vacío del atrio, conectando los tres niveles de manera fluida y continua. La segunda operación arquitectónica fue la de "desencajonar" las circulaciones interiores relacionándolas siempre con el exterior a través de la luz natural y de las vistas. Se abrieron los fondos de los pasillos de manera de que remataran contra las ventanas de las fachadas, y se produjera contacto visual con el exterior, dejando entrar luz natural. Con esta operación se eliminó la sensación de encierro, de oscuridad y de falta de orientación. La tercera operación fue limpiar los pisos de elementos accesorios y simplificar las terminaciones de manera de lograr un ambiente limpio, contemporáneo y fino. Los materiales se redujeron a madera, cristal y superficies blancas, logrando una atmósfera luminosa y tranquila. The two levels of the original offices were connected by a semicircular staircase crossing through the concrete slab. The first architectural step was to change the concept of two levels joined by a staircase, to three floors spatially connected by an atrium with a curved staircase. The staircase was designed as an elliptical spatial course that unfolds into two continuous and opposing curves in the atrium, becoming an architectural journey. The staircase is designed as a walkable object, a unique structure floating in the void of the atrium, connecting the three levels in a fluid and continuous manner.
The second architectural operation was to “unbox” the internal circulations by always relating them to the exterior with natural light and views. Closed corridors were opened to reach the windows of the façades and create visual contact with the exterior, letting in natural light. This procedure eliminated the feeling of confinement, darkness and lack of direction. The third operation was to clear the floors of unnecessary elements and simplify the finishes to achieve a clean, contemporary and elegant environment. The range of materials was reduced to wood, glass and white surfaces, accomplishing a bright and quiet atmosphere.
