Zoning The proposal incorporates the program according to the activities of the user, grouping in the south side –next to the access– all the sports activities, and toward the north side –the river’s edge– the social character activities whilst enjoying the scenery. The zoning responds additionally to the desire of respecting and maintaining the wetlands near the river, which would have disappeared with the construction of sports courts. The building that embraces the administrative area, gymnasium and locker rooms is located in the Square Plaza (access), acting as a distribution centre to all the sports activities, and shaping in turn the entry to the Main Walkway that leads pedestrians to the river area. With the advantages of having landscape views, and participating in the existing vegetation and in the new proposed vegetation for the River Garden, the Club House is located at the river’s edge, at the end of the Main Walkway. The picnic area, with barbecues and an institutional pergola, achieve the same objective at the west side of Club House. The running path, with vegetation alongside all of it, spans the entire site and establishes equidistant exercise stations in the different areas. Given the size of the site, it was chosen to distribute car parking in a proportional manner to the use of the different sectors proposed.
