Chile, un país largo y angosto / Chile, a long and narrow country
La idea parte del concepto del “terroir”, que alude a las condiciones de geografía, luz, clima y suelo que definen a un vino. Se buscó entonces que el museo evocara al lugar donde se concibe la vid, su origen, de manera simple y sencilla. Que mediante su recorrido creara la impresión de estar bajo la parra y circular por la viña, dónde hay cierto ritmo constante, el cielo se asoma de manera discontinua y se da la sensación de contención expuesta.
The idea stems from the concept of “terroir” that alludes to the conditions of geography, light, climate and ground that determine a wine. It was thus proposed that the museum evokes to the place where the grapevine is conceived, its origin, in a simple and easy way. That by means of its route, it would create the impression to be under a grapevine, circulating around the vineyard, where there is a steady pace, the sky looks discontinuous and there is a sense of exposed containment.
El museo nace de la tierra misma hasta hacerse presente en un remate que permite el asomo al recorrido realizado. The museum is born out of the ground until presenting itself in a conclusion that enables the sight of the taken route.
La sensación de contención expuesta de estar bajo la parra, donde el cielo se deja entrever, la discontinuidad de este. The containment sense exposed of being underneath a grapevine, where the sky can be glimpsed, the discontinuity of this.
