Con la premisa de respetar al máximo la vegetación y el paisaje existentes que durante tanto tiempo han servido de retiro e inspiración al artista, el volumen del museo se excava en la tierra y aparece disimulado en su totalidad. Asociado a él, el referente icónico de toda la obra: un mural pintado por el artista que, tras adquirir un mínimo grosor, albergará los programas de investigación. Este mural abrirá un surco en el terreno en forma de patio abierto al cielo, que servirá de articulación a los dos espacios y que introduce al usuario gradualmente en el interior de la pieza, fundiéndolo con el paisaje. El trabajo plástico que se lleva a cabo al retirar la tierra del volumen que ocupará el museo tendrá su reflejo en los materiales y las formas que lo definirán: unos conos de hormigón armado pasarán a ser los elementos configurativos principales del espacio final. Casi como piezas esculpidas de un volumen mayor, cada uno de ellos constituirá una unidad diferenciada que solucionará el espacio estética, funcional y estructuralmente, aportando además mejoras en la iluminación, la ventilación, la conservación de la vegetación y el rendimiento energético. In order to preserve as much as possible the existing vegetation and landscape that for so long have served as a retreat and inspiration for the artist, the volume of the museum is dug into the ground and entirely concealed. In connection with the same idea, a mural painted by the artist serves as iconic landmark of the whole work and which, with minimum thickness, houses research programs. This mural will open a furrow in the ground, a courtyard open to the sky, which will serve to articulate both spaces and gradually introduce the user inside the piece and fuse with the landscape. The plastic work carried out to remove the soil from the volume occupied by the museum will be reflected in the materials and forms that define it: concrete cones will become the main configurative elements of the final space. Almost as sculptured pieces of a larger volume, each constitutes a separate unit that aesthetically, functionally and structurally solves the space and also provides improvements in lighting, ventilation, vegetation conservation and energy efficiency.
