El encargo consistió en la restauración y rehabilitación de una parte del ex edificio de Correos de Chile en Antofagasta, emplazado en la cuadrícula fundacional de la ciudad, para acoger las instalaciones de su nueva biblioteca regional. El proyecto ganó el concurso público definido por la Dirección Regional de Arquitectura de Antofagasta en conjunto con la Dibam. The commission involved the renovation and rehabilitation of part of the former Chile Postal Service building in Antofagasta –located in the foundational city grid– to accommodate its new regional library facilities. The project won the open competition organized by the Regional Directorate of Architecture of Antofagasta together with Dibam, the national Libraries, Archives and Museums Board.
