Los pabellones de salas y equipamiento educacional surgen de la topografía en pendiente, como una extensión de ella, generándose terrazas naturales y permitiendo el cerro se introduzca entre pabellón y pabellón, formando patios ataludados. Los taludes permiten mayor entrada de luz y funcionan como conexión directa con la naturaleza y el programa deportivo, ubicado en la parte posterior. El gimnasio es el punto neurálgico del proyecto, y en el talud que lo penetra existen graderías a modo de anfiteatro natural. La cubierta opera como proyección de la viga de evacuación y a su vez es la baranda de la terraza segura. The classroom and educational facility pavilions emerge as an extension of the sloping topography, creating natural terraces and allowing the hill to appear in sloping courtyards between one pavilion and the next. The slopes allow for additional illumination and function as a direct connection to the natural surroundings and the sports program located in the back. The gym is the center of the project, and the intruding slope provides stands as in a natural amphitheater. The roofing operates as a projection of the evacuation route and in turn is the railing of the secure terrace. Pelluhue se ubica a 10 km del epicentro del terremoto y maremoto de 2010, por lo que la unidad se emplaza en la zona segura, alineada a la Plaza de Armas y actuando como su espejo. Su acceso nace en la plaza, proyectando un camino que operará como vía de evacuación, hoy inexistente, expresada con una viga roja IPE, visible de día y con luces LED para la noche. Autosustentable y con sistema propio de energía, operará como albergue ante catástrofes.
Pelluhue is located 10 km from the epicenter of the 2010 earthquake and tsunami, therefore the unit is placed in the secure area, aligned with the Plaza de Armas and acting as its mirror image. The access begins in the square, projecting a path which will operate as an escape route, inexistent today, marked with a red IPE beam, visible by day and lit by LED lights by night. Self-sustaining and with an autonomous energy system, it will operate as a disaster shelter.
